Invalid Descriptor Index

Symptoms

When making an import of data using the Microsoft BCP utility into a table in the SQL Server database, you may receive an error:

 SQLState = S1002, NativeError = 0
 Error = [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0] Invalid Descriptor Index

Cause

This error message may appear when information in generated bcp file doesn't match the number of columns in table where data should be loaded.

Solution

First of all, please verify whether you have checked all the required columns for migration on the “Conversion Options” page on “DDL” tab, please see the screenshot for your reference:

NOTICE: Please note that if you are doing the data load into a table that already exists in the database, the list of checked columns should be the same as the list of columns in the existed table.
