[OpenLink][ODBC][Progress Server]** Unable to Understand After -- "DECLARE"

Symptoms

When connecting to Progress database through the OpenLink driver using Ispirer Toolkit there is an error [OpenLink][ODBC][Progress Server]* * Unable to understand after – “DECLARE”.

Cause

This error rises in OpenLink drivers for 9th versions of PROGRESS databases while connecting using Ispirer Toolkit. The problem lies in inability of early OpenLink drivers for Progress to accept double quotes as the delimiters for delimited identifiers.

Solution

Unfortunately even option “Use Space for SQL_QUOTE_CHAR” doesn't resolve this problem during the connection. In order to resolve the issue, please install new OpenLink driver created for Progress version 10.0 and later or MERANT ODBC drivers, starting from version 3.60, can be used instead.
